4Yoshimura RS-5 Slip-on Is a Safe Buy
By Joshua
The RS-5 is another quality product from Yoshimura. If you're looking to get rid of your old, heavy, and ugly stock exhaust, the RS-5 is a great looking, and sounding, starting point.
Coming in at right around $350.00 for the stainless steel, carbon fiber tipped, the RS-5 slip-on is one of the best items you can get for your beloved motorcycle at this price. Other options like the Akrapovic, that come in similar styles start at around $700.00. Considerably less cost, doesn't mean considerably less performance. Personally, I prefer the sound of the Yoshimura, over some of the other more expensive brands. But, it's hard to get the complete look and sound of the Akrapovic systems.

Installation is extremely simple. This slip-on was one of the first modifications I made to my 2007 ZX-6R. I essentially had no idea what I was doing, but the directions are easy to read, and installation of virtually any slip-on is pretty easy. I will recommend that you take care, when removing the cables from the servo that operates the airflow valve. The cables are attached to a small piece of plastic. If you're not cautious, you could easily snap the plastic bits off. Other than that, it only took about 2 hours to install, and I had almost no idea what I was doing at the time.

The Yoshimura RS-5 is well made, affordable, and a great looking addition to your motorcycle. With a competitive price, and performance, you won't regret getting this aftermarket pipe. Enjoy, and ride safe.
